Dearest Knitters,

I miss you, and I feel guilty that I don't write as often as I should, then I don't know what to say which then leads into the sad circle of not talking.  So I thought I'd write you a blog.  I can share my photos and patterns and all the things I used to share with you then you can share in the comments.  I miss you ladies so much and our knit nights.

Here's a quick recap of some of the "fun" I've been having since I got here.

 

I worked on this horrible sweater more, I learned that it was WAAAAAAY too big on me, and thus had to die, also I didn't have enough yarn.  This yarn in now in the closet to think about its sins against humanity.  I do have a better pattern picked out for it, with good structure which will help the soft hand of this yarn.  It has a loose ply and a fair amount of alpaca and so it drapes great but at the same time is like limp fish.  

 I worked on this skirt, which is yolked skirt with a hidden zipper.  The pattern is a wee bit short and I might have made a size too big.  It was a great learning experience. Hidden zippers, construction, fancy stitches on my sewing machine.  I can sort of wear it.  I will make another one, out of some softer finer fabric so it has better drape.

 I finished spinning this blue fiber, which I bought when I lived in Oklahoma, in 2010.  Its that old.  It turned out nice.  I used the Navajo plying method to get a nicer ply because it was something I want to try and it wasn't a solid.  I still got a fair amount of candy-cane striping  but its much easier than trying to get both bobbins to have just the right amount of yarn on them.  I'm try to be more scientific amount my spinning, and measure out exactly half for each bobbin.

I cleaned out my stash, I organized all my bits and pieces of yarn.  Got all the worsted together in one bag and all the sock in another.  The sock yarn bits are slowing becoming the "beekeepers quilt" I mean slowly because it needs about 400 of the little Hexapuffs.  But seriously how cute is that, a hexapuff.  

To use up all the extra yarn bits in the Worsted bin I bought a loom class on Craftsy.  Which was great.  I really liked learned more about my little loom and what I could make with it.  I made this scarf with waste yarn.  It tuned out great.  

This picture is a little dark up I worked on my Glitz at the Ritz shawl. which is a great knit.  I highly recommend it.
